“Mhalsapati” was the priest of the Khandoba Mandir. The people of the village, especially those with religious beliefs, used to be attracted towards Sai baba People in the village used to be surprised to see a young lad performing such penance. He used to sit motionless under a neem tree in asana. This also makes us believe that year 1838 can be Sai Baba’s birth year. Sai Baba’s original name is also not known. This book gives most exact information about Sai Baba, as it is based on personal observation of Shri Sai baba, by “Hemadpant”. He wrote a book name “Shri Sai SatCharita” in Marathi. Sai baba had a disciple named “Hemadpant”. However, it is believed that Sai Baba was born not far from the town “Shirdi”. There is no concrete evidence to prove Sai baba's place and time of birth. The question that “When and where was Sai baba born?” does not have clear answers. He taught everyone values to live humanely in society. He had no desires for material things which is evident from the very simple life he lived. Living in the society as a simple human being, Shri Sai baba was an incarnation of God.
